The in-your-ear experience of listening to music by putting in headphones and blocking out the world is quickly being replaced by an in-the-room experience of listening to vinyl and engaging in conversation. Record players are trending once again. Vinyl sales are thriving not just in Canada but all over the world. With record sales almost doubling in the past couple years, they seem to be taking over. But the question is, why are they coming back now? What is the appeal of vinyl records for the youth of our generation, when digital music is available at the tip of their fingers?
